Cynthia - California 10:30 - 11:24

My first walk and post for Creatively Fit. I'm thrilled to be a part of it. I will try to walk and post several times a week. I also try to dance around my kitchen every day, so doing both 7 days a week is too much for my schedule (and out of shape body). My dog Lola is thrilled that I am doing this. She thinks she's not getting nearly enough walks. One thing I really like about digital cameras (among so many things) is that you can switch between color and black and white so easily. When I was using film cameras I would carry two cameras - one for color slide film, one for black and white print film
A few years ago I noticed that a woman put an umbrella over her hydrangeas to protect them from the sun. Each year since then there seems to be more and more umbrellas protecting plants instead of people in the neighborhood.

In the second picture I liked how the bouquet of tulips inside the house on the window ledge picked up the color of the umbrella on the outside.

People outside walking their dogs, delivering their mail...I love photographing every day activities.
Today I carried my Canon XT with its 100mm macro lens.
I liked how the red on the stairs directed my eye over to the red flowers.
I'm a sucker for wicker and rocking chairs on a front porch.
A couple Victorian details on a house nearby and its gazebo in the garden.

Each day on my blog I post an iPhone Polaroid. Come by and see the ones I did today.

Wonderful, beautiful, fun! How terrific your fresh new perspective is! I especially love the walking mailman. We don't have those here.

Color me very green with your Canon and macro. I love my camera (a Panasonic Lumix with an 18X zoom that allows me to photograph manually, but has no bells and whistles to add), but I really have my heart set on the Canon Rebel T1i.

I'm so glad you joined us, Cynthia! I look forward to your photos in the future.

Thanks Hayley. No walking mailmen? Isn't it funny what seems unusual when you live in different parts of the country (or world). Can you imagine my surprise when I saw your "Alligators, No Swimming" sign?

Cynthia,
Welcome to our team of walkers/photographers! This is so exciting our circle is growing!

I love all of your pictures! The photos with the mailman remind me of the neighorhoods you see in the movies. We don't have individual mailboxes in my town. They are all clumped together in a community box.(boring) Mailboxes are such an opportunity to express ones creativety.

I think my favorite picture in this post is the white house with the red stairs and flowers. Beautiful!

Thank you for joining us! I look forward to hear about and seeing more from your walks.
