Mary - Indiana - 7:45 to 8:30 This Evening

I almost didn't go out. I knew if I did it would be a short walk and pictures would be challenging because it was getting so dark so fast. I went to my usual place and took a picture of some Queen Anne's Lace.

Not too exciting I'll admit. But then I saw the object of all my photo affections:

First the Mom and one of her babies and then the second baby made his appearance. They never made a nice pose for me but I did get shots of them:

After that I caught one sunset picture and I was outta there.

Mary - Indiana - 7:15 to 8:30 PM

My walks are getting slower because I just can't stop taking pictures. Although I've been walking in the same location, it seems like there is a never ending panorama of picture worthy subjects. At Striebel Pond in the evening, one of the most beautiful aspects is the sunlight on the water and I just can't get enough of it.

Then there are the ever present water loving birds:

Including the swans that I'm addicted to:

And my deep sunset picture of the evening:

Mary - Indiana - 7:15 to 8:15 PM

After being away or completely tied up for the last four days in which I didn't walk even once, I did get out this evening for a one hour photo session/walk. Although it wasn't morning light, it was evening light and almost as good. I enjoyed the light on the lake, the swans and their antics, and the deep pink sunset pictures.

The swam family that I like to watch while I walk seemed to be trying something new. Mom and Dad Swan stayed on an outcropping of land while the children swam far away. Dad swan watched them unceasingly and as I took photos he seemed to become more and more agitated until he came charging across the water to perhaps scare me off.

Soon Mom Swan caught up and they all swam serenely into the sunset with Daughter Swan telling Mom all about the excitement.

And then there were those pinks that I found so enchanting.

All in all it felt good to be creatively walking again and I hope I can get fit soon.

Mary - Indiana - 7:45 to 8:15 Yesterday Evening

Hi! My name is Mary. I live in the Northernmost part of Indiana, right on the tip of Lake Michigan. I've recently retired and am counting on walking to stay healthy, active and a lot slimmer (and I have a long way to go for that part). I generally walk twice a day - once some time during the day and once late in the cooler evening with my husband. I like to walk at a watershed park here in town or at the Indiana Dunes State Park; however, because of this CreativelyFit project, I will try to expand my horizons. I'm a habitual picture taker but I definitely need to work on quality and creativity so this is perfect for me.

Thanks to Hayley for inviting me and I promise in the future to try to post on the day of my walk instead of the next day. Yesterday as I walked and photographed I did it with this blog in mind and some of the pictures I wouldn't be able to re-create on another day so I'm anxious to include them.

The first pictures were from the evening walk where the light transformed some everyday scenes into textures and reflections:

During my day journey yesterday, I photographed the people/doggie fountain and the doggie who didn't care to use it. His owner had to give him water from her hand and then Tracy (the doggie) seemed to laugh about it and then pose for my camera.

My goals will include walking earlier, varying my subjects, and maybe learning how to do a collage. Thanks, Hayley, for the invite. I think you're a wonderful person and a gifted blogger and photographer.
