When we go for our morning walk through the forest, I always marvel at the variety of colours and patterns in the bark of the trees.
From a distance they just look like ordinary gum trees (eucalyptus)A little closer you can see green ones and........
....white ones and......
....black ones and.....
...orange ones and.....
....pink ones and....
....brown and green ones and.....
....cream ones.... (melaleuca paper bark)
....brown and white ones and...
...blood stained ones ....
...and freckled ones and....
...dimpled ones and....
...spotted ones and...
...... brown and orange flakey ones and....
..more and more and.....
...more different kinds of bark art.

Sorry there are so many photos but I wanted to show you all the different types of bark. Maybe I should have made a mosaic....sorry.
Hi Diane, a nice variety. Nothing wrong as they are now :) I love walks thru the forest, quiet except for the sounds of birds. Have a nice weekend, Ev
Wow, this is bark art!! You definitely have a theme here. This would have made an interesting mosaic but sometimes each has to stand alone on its beauty. Follow your creative instincts!:)
I'm guessing the blood stained one is sap...I hope:)
Have a wonderful start to your weekend!
I wonder why we don't call those gum trees over here too. It's much easier to say than "eucalyptus"!! I love all those varieties of bark. I haven't seen them all in person but there are several species here. My favorites are the ones with the smooth white bark that wrinkles like skin at the "elbows" of the branches...they grow very tall with branches high off the ground.
