Outside I met a pale sun layered with thin high fog. Made for a diffuse light which not even photoshop could take off :-))I needed to clear my head and had a brisk walk along the river. I do love living by the river with his eternal whispers during the nights, the invitations to cool myself there during Summer and the dangerous strength during winter, even more risky in early Spring when the melted snow lets the river raise off his bed.
Another statue I pass nearly daily, love that the pic of her foot came out so well.
Further down I pass the Deutsche Museum (German museum) it is one of the most reowned science museum in the world, having one of the largest telescopes as well. I always found it is an ugly building however built during the time on industrialisation it is now a landmark of this time.
Always stuffed with tourists. The last one I had taken there complained after 8h visits why the museum is closing !!!
Right now the Summer tourists are gone still the museum is stuffed. Tourists from all over the world which had booked "education & excitment" or "sights & sounds" are filling the city - Yepp, under excitement one has to understand that the beerfestival starts this weekend. Due to economy we expect less visitors still we have have to cope with about 6Mio visitors to the octoberfest....not my time of year...they call it the fifth season in Munich.
The art nouveau building (below)is one of my fav's here in town. It is the oldest public swimming pool, olympic sizes in art deco. Renovated to Hi Tech standard it is the place of aqua gym for me.
Yet another church on the way. Munich is full with churches and even more monasteries. The original name of the city was: "by dei Muenche" - by the monks. Guess that explains it. Since I walk I wonder if I should switch my job and become a tourist guide ;-))

I particularly like the picture of the Deutsche Museum. The leaves in the foreground add a lovely lacy effect against the pastel background. I love the mix of modern and traditional in the design of the building. Your photo makes me want to move in closer, past the branches, to explore this fascinating place.
