Cindy - Florida - Sunday 3-30-4:45 PM

Today I'd like to thank my family for coming with me on my Creatively Fit walk and I'd particularly like to thank hubby for suggesting our walking location. We walked at the Environmental Center today! Hubby and son, Matthew, went here last year for the annual 5th grade mud walk. Yes the big event was to wade through mud! Thankfully we didn't do that today. We just walked on the trails and paths. It rained earlier today, so it was a bit wet and slippery in spots. I wore the right type of shoes, the boys wore flip flop, not too wise:(

Matthew was telling me about the air potato vines that grow like wild and smother the trees. He said that when you see it you are supposed to pull it out. So the boys had fun doing their part, helping the environment. They even had yellow buckets, supplied by the Eagle Scouts, to discard the potatoes.
We came across creepy crawlers like centipedes. I had to get a few shots of this lovely creature!
We saw several of these fancy grasshoppers too. I don't know how they can let these creatures jump on them. I'm happy just taking the pictures.

Not sure what was going on here but I had a feeling... I think they were exhibitionists.

Several things caught my eye along my walk. In the collage below, the first picture, upper left, reminds me how resilient nature can be. The new green palm leaf is sprouting out of the dead broken tree truck. I loved capturing the reflective moments of my children by the stream(in the next two photos). This beautiful black butterfly(upper right photo) was so busy going about his business, he could care less that I was there. The trees by the stream looked so primitive, like a scene from that cheesy 70's show, Land of the Lost. And finally the sad lonely leaf looked like he hung himself, very strange.
These mushrooms were slimy and wonderful! I even captured a tiny spider in the bottom picture, under the center mushroom.

What I love about this next photo are the layers of perception. The sky, tree and myself are reflected in this puddle. You see the ground and my foot as snapped by my camera. Although it's just a picture of the puddle, it's really so much more.

But of all my 113 pictures today, this one was my favorite!

Thank you family!:)

Great pictures today! I think it is my favorite of your walks too!!

It is sad that the my favorite "heart" plants are really air potato vines, and I should be picking them out instead of taking their photo! ;(

Many of your photos look like the ones I took at Alderman Ford Park...the crickets for example... By the way, that one photo is clearly a daddy giving his son a "piggy back ride!"

Love the spider under the mushroom too!

I'm glad your family walked with you today!! Tell them to do it more often, as these are great pics!!

I just love all your pictures. The spider is awesome. Such a tiny creature in this big big world. Grasshoppers and Centipedes not my thing. YUCK! Boys will be boys. I Do love the picture of the boys walking. You should frame it. So nice that the family went with you.

Your photos are all absolutely gorgeous!! I couldn't possibly pick a favorite. (Heck, I even enjoyed examining the bugs, and I HATE bugs!) arou

I really love the mushroom photos though! I've never seen any quite like that around here.
